µChip3: 3-day UK fest with Chiptunes, 8-bit hardware, hacking, LSDJ & other Glitch Art hosted by Vivid Projects & μCollective

Micro Collective and Vivid Projects will be hosting µChip3, starting Thursday, March 19, 2015 in Birmingham, United Kingdom.

While there’s not much info consolidated into one place, this is what I could find:

Glitch Art Workshop: Join Antonio Roberts for this one-off workshop in which he will lead participants on a journey through source code hacking and glitch art. The workshop is presented as part of µChip3, a 3-day event celebrating Chiptune music, digital art, hacking, modified hardware and unconventional approaches to making music and visual art. The workshop is open to all ages, no prior experience necessary.

Game Boy Music-Making Workshop: Sam Wray will teach participants how to use LSDJ Game Boy software to make electronic music. This workshop is presented as part of µChip3, a 3-day event celebrating Chiptune music, digital art, hacking, modified hardware and unconventional approaches to making music and visual art. The workshop is open to all, no prior experience necessary.

µChip3 – an evening of Chiptune performance: Join us for an evening of performances from leading Chiptune artists including Sabrepulse, gwEm, ultrasyd, Mizkai, Shirobon, infotoxin and Alex Juno.
What to expect:
  • retro hardware, custom made software, and hacked materials.
  • Visuals by bitrituals, Dan Hett, LazerSausage and Sebastian Lenton
  • 8-bit Lounge gaming complete with 16-bit games consoles including SNES, Megadrive, Mastersystem, and Commodore 64.
