This Sunday in Detroit, MI, the Mobile Homestead will be hosting a Circuit Bending Workshop.
Emphasizing spontaneity and randomness, circuit bending is the creative, chance-based customization of the circuits found within electronic devices such as low voltage, battery-powered guitar effects, children’s toys, and digital synthesizers. Local noise musician, coffee entrepreneur, and electronic tinkerer Catherine Engstrom will lead a circuit bending workshop for beginners in the Mobile Homestead. Participants are encouraged to bring a low-voltage, battery powered electronic device to create a new instrument.
