R.I.P. Lo-Fi SES, the lovable, hackable 8-bit chiptunes instrument we never knew

In a sad update on their Kickstarter page, Assorted Wires has cancelled their campaign for the Lo-Fi SES.

After a +500% funded campaign and great media coverage, they’ve shut down the project.

“Over the past few weeks I was hit hard with a series of things that have consumed all of my time and left little time for the Lo-Fi SES. A serious family emergency has consumed almost all of my time and caused considerable stress. Then, a major emergency with a friend consumed what was left of my time.

As the saying goes: when it rains it pours. And, while I love my Kickstarter family, my immediate family and friends come first.

This has left me in an unfortunate situation where I know that I can no longer deliver on my Kickstarter promises.”

However, all may not be lost.

“My plan is to cancel the current Kickstarter and, instead, focus (when I have time) on finding a distributor for the Lo-Fi SES. A long-term home for Lo-Fi SES would help provide it stable footing and fertile ground for a proper community to grow. That is what I really want.”
